Venture out into the world to meet people, build skills, and gain perspective in a way that you would never imagine. UBC Engineering offers students a range of opportunities to gain international experience.
Coordinated International Experience
The Coordinated International Experience (CIE) program is offered exclusively to student in the UBC Faculty of Applied Science. It offers equivalency in academic credit for a pre-selected and pre-approved set of courses over one academic term at one of our international partner institutions.
Courses are taught in English, and the academic credit you receive from your courses taken abroad will count fully towards your UBC degree. All students who attend a partner Coordinated International Experience institution will receive a $1,000 Coordinated International Experience Award during their term abroad.
Our partner institutions are recognized internationally as academic leaders and were selected deliberately because their course offerings complement UBC Applied Science degree programs.
